Closing Conference of the Blockchain & Society Policy Research Lab

Governance by technology  – the revolution will not be decentralized?

On July 3-4 Antonia Stanojevic will attend the closing conference of the Blockchain & Society Policy Research Lab in Amsterdam. Together with a diverse group of professionals including lawyers, social scientists, technologists, economists, and humanities scholars, Antonia will critically examine the governance of decentralized, distributed, blockchain-based systems.

Antonia Stanojevic will present her paper titled “Political Trust, Informed Consent, and Privacy: Issues that Blockchain Can (Not) Solve?”, which brings forth an empirical analysis of blockchain implementation within public governance. During her presentation, Antonia will examine our case study “The red button” from a political science and social psychology perspective and bring forward policy recommendations considering “The red button” initiative itself, but also more generally with regards to the use of novel technologies, such as blockchain, in public policy.
